Chaos on A27 as Car Overturns Near Chichester – Long Delays Reported
One lane of the A27 towards Chichester is shut after a dramatic car crash left a vehicle overturned this afternoon. The smash happened just after 2pm, around a mile from Emsworth Services, causing heavy delays for drivers heading into Chichester.
Single Vehicle Overturns – One Taken to Hospital
Emergency services raced to the scene, including police, fire crews, and ambulance teams. Hampshire Fire and Rescue confirmed a silver car, driven by a pensioner, was involved in the single-vehicle collision.
Firefighters from Havant Fire Station made the car safe and stopped leaking fluids to protect the road surface. One person has been taken to hospital with minor injuries, while paramedics continue to treat the driver at the roadside.

The lane closure is set to remain in place for some time. Recovery crews are on site working to right and clear the overturned vehicle, leaving drivers stuck in long queues.
