Crash Chaos on M27: One Hurt, Delays Mount
Single-Vehicle Smash Slows M27 Eastbound
Emergency crews scrambled to the M27 this afternoon after a single-vehicle collision near Portsmouth. Paramedics treated one patient at the scene before rushing them to hospital.
Injuries Not Serious, But Traffic Nightmare Looms
Thankfully, the victim’s injuries aren’t thought to be serious. Despite this, the crash triggered major tailbacks. Drivers faced up to an hour-long delay from Junction 8 (Windover) towards the crash site between Junction 9 (Park Gate) and Junction 10 (Fareham).
Lanes Reopened After Police Clear Scene
Police closed two eastbound lanes between Junctions 9 and 10 to investigate. The closures were lifted around 4.22pm, restoring traffic flow. A Hampshire Police spokesman confirmed:
“We were called at 3.35pm this afternoon to reports of a single vehicle collision on the M27 between Junction 9 and 10. Minor injuries have been reported.”
Motorists are urged to check live updates before travelling this busy stretch of the M27.
