Shock as Two More Cats Found Mutilated in Portsmouth’s PO3 Area! The hunt is on after two cats were discovered horribly mutilated, with one beheaded and the other found dead nearby. The sinister cases have raised fears among local pet owners.

Grisly Discoveries Spark Outrage

Last week, a man stumbled upon the head of a cat dumped in Kiln Road, PO3, Portsmouth. When he returned to find the head again, he instead located the cat’s body a short distance away. Boudiccia Rising from South Norwood Animal Rescue and Liberty (SNARL), who are spearheading the investigation, thanked the witness for his efforts despite a busy workday.

“Our cat was found beheaded last week and confirmed as the same MO as the cat killer,” said the owner, who asked for anonymity to protect her children. “We need to raise awareness so someone may spot suspicious behaviour. We don’t want our children to find out their pet died like this.”

Operation Takahe Intensifies

Just days later, on 18 May, another decapitated cat was found on Lyndhurst Road, also in the PO3 area. Thanks to swift action by The Fox Project and local authorities, the young male tabby’s body was recovered and secured. SNARL says efforts to identify him continue.

Both brutal killings are now being investigated under Operation Takahe, the Met Police’s dedicated task force tackling the infamous M25 Cat Killer.

Growing Fear Across the Region

  • Recent mutilations reported in Marmion Road, Southsea (16-17 April)
  • Atalanta Close, Milton (3-4 April)
  • Avenue Road, Sandown (21-22 July 2016)

Sergeant Tony Jeacock of the Metropolitan Police reassured the public: “We are investigating all leads thoroughly.”

Pet Owners Urged to Take Precautions
