Escaped Prisoner Caught After Dramatic Salisbury Hospital Breakout

Police have arrested Michal Kisiel, 30, who fled from Salisbury District Hospital yesterday evening. He was spotted walking near Nunton Village, just outside Salisbury, and was swiftly recaptured thanks to a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public.

Planned Prison Break at Salisbury Hospital

Kisiel escaped custody around 7pm on Tuesday, 30th May, while being treated for a head injury. Police say his breakout was premeditated, slipping past prison guards during his hospital stay.

Public Spot Tips Off Police, Leading to Arrest

After a flood of public sightings across the county and beyond, hopes dimmed that Kisiel had fled far. But shortly before 9pm, a quick-thinking local near a Day Nursery in Nunton spotted him and dialed 999. Officers moved in, arresting Kisiel without incident.

Police Praise Community Effort in Recapture

“I would like to thank the public for all of their help in finding this escaped prisoner,” said Superintendent Sue Austin. “As much as we are able to use policing methods to find him, ultimately it was an alert member of our community who spotted the offender and proactively called 999. In times like this, everyone pulling together helps keep our communities safe.”

Kisiel remains in custody and will be returned to prison soon, ending a tense manhunt sparked by his hospital escape.
