Fake Cash Flaunter and Drug Dealers Jailed in Surrey Crime Crackdown

Flashy Drug Dealer’s Fake Cash Stunt Lands Him Behind Bars!

A wannabe rich drug dealer who flaunted fake wads of cash on social media has been nailed by Surrey Police’s Operation Viking. The crackdown, targeting cross-border dealers since October, saw Justin Bruney and Ricky Williams locked up last Wednesday (May 25).

Stopped with Stash in Sock

The pair were caught red-handed on Tattenham Way, Tadworth, back on October 18, 2016. A proactive patrol searched their Mercedes and found a sock stuffed with wraps of Class A drugs hidden behind an interior light fitting. The cops also seized a large pile of cash.

Fake Riches Exposed on Phone

Phone analysis revealed they were texting contacts about drug deals. Bruney’s phone was full of photos showing him posing with huge stacks of cash and pricey watches. In a shocking confession, Bruney admitted he often faked his wealth online by placing £20 notes at the front and back of bundles filled with blank paper to look rich.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Preston said: “This just goes to show that drug dealing is not a glamorous lifestyle even when criminals are trying to make you believe that it is – and no one likes a show off.”

He added: “It’s another win for Operation Viking, which has secured jail time totalling over 20 years since launching just before Christmas. With Bruney and Williams behind bars, Surrey’s streets are safer without these dealers preying on vulnerable people.”

Jail Sentences Delivered at Guildford Crown Court

Bruney, 22, of Erkenwald Road, Barking, and Williams, 30, of Davidson Road, Croydon, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine. At Guildford Crown Court on May 25, Bruney was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months, while Williams got 3 years and 6 months.

Operation Viking continues its fierce fight against illegal drugs, showing that flashy fakery and crime don’t pay.
