Shock at Drayton Manor after girl falls from Splash Canyon ride

Drayton Manor’s popular Splash Canyon has been shut down following a terrifying incident this afternoon. Emergency crews rushed to help after an 11-year-old girl fell from the ride and plunged into water.

Child Airlifted to Hospital

The girl, from Leicester, was part of a school trip visiting the park when the accident happened. She was quickly airlifted to Birmingham hospital for urgent treatment.

Emergency Services Swift to Act

A spokesman for Drayton Manor confirmed: “The Splash Canyon ride has been closed following an incident this afternoon. Emergency services are at the scene and our fully trained park staff are assisting.”

West Midlands Ambulance Service and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said they received reports of a patient in the water at Drayton Manor in Tamworth at 2.18pm. Multiple emergency units, including ambulance crews, senior paramedics, a community first responder, and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Staffordshire were quickly dispatched.

The first emergency responders arrived within seven minutes, rushing to aid the injured girl.
