Disturbing Incident on Butterfly Drive
Police are probing a creepy incident that took place last night (3 April) in Paulsgrove’s Butterfly Drive. At around 8.10pm, a man allegedly grabbed the ankle of a 9-year-old girl standing on a green communication box.
Girl Screams, Perp Walks Away
The girl quickly stamped her foot and screamed, forcing the man to walk off. He reportedly got into a waiting car where a second person was seen before they drove away.
Police Reassure Public but Urge Caution
Detective Inspector James Stewart said: “We have not had any similar reports in the area, so this appears to be an isolated incident for now.”
“Often, these cases have an innocent explanation, but we take every report seriously and a full investigation is underway.”
Patrols have increased, and officers are knocking on doors and handing out leaflets. Stewart advised parents to remind children about stranger danger.
“Stay alert, not alarmed. Report anything suspicious to 101, or call 999 if it’s an emergency or a crime is happening,” he added.
