Serious Crash on A27: Cyclist Hurt in Late Afternoon Collision
Police and paramedics rushed to the A27 Portchester Road near Fareham tonight after a cyclist was involved in a crash with a single vehicle. The incident happened just before 5.10pm, forcing authorities to close one lane at the Cornaway Lane roundabout.
Rapid Response at the Scene
A rapid response paramedic was first on site, treating the injured cyclist who was found lying on the ground. Traffic remained light despite the disruption. After about an hour, an ambulance arrived, and the cyclist was carefully loaded in for hospital treatment.
Cyclist Taken to QA Hospital
An ambulance spokesperson confirmed: “We were called at 5.15pm to a road traffic collision involving a pushbike and a car on the West Street Roundabout. A rapid response vehicle and ambulance crew attended the scene.”
“He was treated at the scene for a back injury and has since been taken to QA Hospital in Cosham.”
