Fifty Firefighters Battle Blaze at Southsea Launderette

Fifty firefighters swarmed the Impress Launderette on Albert Road, Southsea, after a fierce fire broke out just before 6am today. Ten fire engines, including crews from Cosham, Southsea, Fareham, Portchester, and Havant, rushed to the scene near the Bold Forester pub.

Aerial Ladder Tackles Fiery Inferno

Firefighters deployed an aerial ladder from St Mary’s station to attack the flames from above. The fire quickly engulfed the Impress dry cleaners next door to the Bold Forester pub, sparking a major emergency response.

Owners Escape Unharmed, Streets Sealed Off

The owners of the launderette managed to escape safely from the upstairs flat before raising the alarm. Thankfully, there are no reported injuries.

Albert Road and surrounding side streets remain cordoned off between Waverley Road and Bristol Road. Police are urging motorists to steer clear while investigations continue.
