Police Hunt Men Over Shocking Aldershot Rape Attack
Police are urgently seeking help to identify two men linked to the rape of a 53-year-old woman in Aldershot. The terrifying attack happened just after midnight on Tuesday, July 19, in a subway near the 1 supermarket on Wellington Avenue.
Attack Details
The victim reported being followed by two men between 1.30am and 2.10am. One of the men then assaulted her in the underpass. Detectives at Aldershot CID have launched a full investigation and released CCTV images of the suspects.
Suspect Descriptions
- Man 1: White, around 25 years old, approximately 6ft tall, very dark brown short hair. Last seen wearing a white top, white trainers, and navy blue shorts reaching just below the knees.
- Man 2: Tanned skin, in his 20s, about 5ft 6in tall, short dark hair. Wearing dark blue jeans and a t-shirt.
Police Appeal
“We recognise that the CCTV images are not the clearest but we would urge anyone who thinks they recognise the men in the pictures to contact us as soon as possible,” said Detective Constable Donna Free from Aldershot CID. “Any information could prove vital.”
