Tragedy on M25: Man Killed in Multi-Car Smash at Dawn

Emergency services rushed to the M25 southbound between junctions 8 and 9 at 6.39am today after a three-vehicle collision turned fatal. A 37-year-old Southampton man, driving a Mitsubishi ASX 4, was involved in an initial crash with a Skoda Superb and exited his vehicle. Moments later, he was struck by a third car, a Citroen Berlingo, and tragically died at the scene.

Deadly Smash Brings M25 to a Standstill

The drivers of the other two vehicles walked away unhurt. However, the horrific incident forced authorities to shut down this busy stretch of motorway while they investigated. The closure caused major delays, frustrating thousands of motorists on one of the UK’s key routes.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Roads Policing Sergeant Barry Long, from the Joint Operations Unit, said: “We know closing such a major route causes huge inconvenience. We thank motorists for their patience as we worked to reopen the road as quickly as possible.”

He added: “We have spoken to many witnesses but urge anyone who saw the vehicles before or during the crash to come forward.”
