Emergency Drama on Hayling Island: Billy Trail Sealed Off

Police sealed off the entrance to Billy Trail on Hayling Island this morning after an urgent call-out just after 11am. The scene quickly drew attention as a Specialist Hazardous Area Response Team was scrambled from Otterbourne, 30 miles away near Winchester.

Emergency Services Swarm Location

South Central Ambulance sent an Incident Response Unit, along with two paramedic officers in Land Rover Discoveries, down the rough seven-mile off-road track. An ambulance, reportedly forced to reverse down the trail, left the scene shortly after 1pm, escorted closely by police.

What’s Going On?

It’s still unclear if the ambulance was carrying any casualties. An officer was seen getting into the ambulance before it sped away. Meanwhile, police maintained a tight cordon around the trail all morning, keeping the public at bay.

Official Silence

Michelle Archer, Communications Manager for South Central Ambulance Service, declined to comment on the situation, adding to the mystery surrounding the incident.
