Owner Found Guilty of Animal Cruelty

Jane Francis, 52, of Wricklemarsh Road, was convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal after a harrowing trial.

Between November 19 and December 19 last year, Francis neglected her Siberian husky, Simba, by failing to provide proper nutrition and ignoring a deep wound on the dog’s hind leg.

Simba’s Suffering Ignored – Dog Ultimately Dies

Magistrates slammed Francis for causing prolonged pain, stating: “You caused prolonged suffering which should have been obvious to you and ultimately the dog died.”

Suspended Sentence and Tough Penalties

Last Friday, September 12, Francis appeared at england/bromley/”>Bromley Magistrates’ Court for sentencing. She received a six-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months, alongside a mental health treatment requirement and rehabilitation activities.

She must also pay £2,000 towards the RSPCA’s prosecution costs and a £154 surcharge.

10-Year Ban on Keeping Pets

In a decisive move, the court banned Francis from Keepingkeeping any pets for 10 years, ensuring she can no longer neglect animals under her care.
